Question HELP: VAIO S430 on G35c(w/NAV,XBOX)??

Currently, I have generator lab XBOX connector, PAC-AII(2 input using IPOD and XBOX), XBOX in trunk(not usually used), and power converter connected from the armrest to trunk.
I have VAIO s430 laptop. it's one of those really small screen one. it's P-M 740 and with PRO/Wireless network connection, 512MB DDR2 memory, 533MHz bus, 2MB L2 cache, and GeForce Go 6200(128MB).
At home, I have extra monitor so I hook that up to my laptop. it's not TV output, buy using same connector that connect desktop and monitor.
I am really hoping I can connect my NAV to the LAPTOP instead of XBOX.
I have lots of movies, mp3s Music Videos. I have wireless keyboard and mouse, also. I want to put my laptop under my seat or on the pessanger side floor. when I use monitor, I close the laptop and still able to use laptop.
So any COMPUTER EXPERT HELP ME... XBOX is useless even though I modded(have to turn on from the trunk everytime I turn on the car).
HELP~~ easiest install will be great.. since I am not mechanic or computer expert.

Yes you can do it, but the quality is going to be very poor. I doubt you will be able to read any text (for example).

First, wou would need to purchase one of the several AUX INPUT units for the G35 Nav Screen (lets you connect outside video sources to your nav screen) and connect one of its inputs to the RCA video output on the scan converter. http://www.avelectronic.com/NavigationVid-Switcher.htm is one example. There is another guy on the forum who makes & sells another model.

Secondly you will need a scan converter or a USB-to-RCA aux video adapter.

A scan converter connects to your laptop's VGA output (the kind of plug that a monitor uses to connect to a desktop PC) and has an RCA video output on it. This option requires no drivers as it is a standalone piece of hardware that does the VGA-to-RCA conversion.

You can also get one of those USB presentation adapters. It has a USB plug on one end that connects to your PC, and has an RCA video output on the other end. You would then connect this RCA output to the This might give you slightly better quality, but required you to load drivers. Because it uses USB and drivers, it may be more tempermental than the standalone scan converter.

There is also a mod for the xbox that allows you to turn it on (not off though) with an IR remote. I had it on my last xbox and it worked great in the home. If you did that mod, then you could use a unit like the pac-swi-x to turn it on.
You could also just extend the switch and mount it somewhere closer to you. That would be the easiest way and keep you out of the trunk.

You may want to consider using your Xbox instead of a seperate computer
The Xbox really just is a computer with specialized software

With the proper mods you can get it to play moves and music and do all sorts of things
