DIY Scratched rim repair
DIY Scratched rim repair
I was working on my curb rash the other day and made a small discovery on repairing scratches.
I was sanding the rash down and i accidentally went over the rash area and scratched the flat part of the lip. At his point i thought i just made more of a mess, but its a good thing im somewhat creative.
I took some clear coat spray paint, and sprayed some into the cap. Then i took a q-tip and used it to apply the clear coat on the scratched area... the scratches disappeared! The clear coat filled in the scratches, so i got motivated and did the rest of the rims where i had tiny scratches from rocks...works awesome and you cant see the clear coat.
It probably wont repair deep scratches, but for the cost i think its worth 10 minutes of work.
I have machined lips on my wheels btw.
Just sharing, hope it helps you guys.
