Tinting Question!!!!

I am tinting my windows this week and my car is a lease. What is the safest way to go as far as keeping the tint from ruining the defrosters at the end of the lease. Has anyone has this problem? Should I not get it tinted? Please provide some feedback. Thanks!

Re: Tinting Question!!!!

Have a good shop put the tint on, and don't have the tint removed from the rear window. It's the removal of the tint (usually by scraping with a razor blade) that damages defrosters, as far as I know.

Re: Tinting Question!!!!

I think its a bad idea if your leasing the car, be sure to check with the dealer, or better yet call the Infiniti lease dept, and ask if its allowed. You might get charged extra when turning in the car.....

Re: Tinting Question!!!!

My mother leased her G yesterday and they offered to tint her windows at the dealership so I don't think it's against the lease agreement.

Re: Tinting Question!!!!

You won't get charged extra for anything that improves the value of the vehicle. You'll just lose your "investment" as you won't be selling the vehicle, but rather turning it in. You would be wise to keep it legal for the state you're in, however.

Now, if the tint is bubbling and peeling off, the bank may have issues when you go to turn it in.
