Bad tint job?

Hey folks. I just got my BS Sedan tinted at Senor Stereo here in Miami. Although there wer some bubbles in the back the tint installer told me that those would go away after a little while. But I noticed on the side windows some larger bubbles and distortions. Its only been one day but it looks horrible. I'll try to get some pictures but its hard to get the right angle. Anyway, if you guys think this is normal let me know. I won't worry too much.

Re: Bad tint job?

I have very, very small bubbles when I first had the tint done, but only on the back window by the textured areas. The windows should have been squeegied out. Let's see those pics when you get em...

Re: Bad tint job?

Water does cause a distorted look, but most of it should have been squeeged out, any bubbles left should be very small and faint. You may have gotten a "quickie" install there. Bubbles alone do not necessarily indicate a bad job, it may dry fine, as well as it may not.

Most tint shops, at least the good ones, guarantee their work... carry your G back and let them see for themselves, but I suspect that they'll ask you to wait at least a week,... they will assure you that the bubbles will be gone by then, and they very well may be (or may not).

Wait a week and then see, with the hot weather down here most if not all should be gone by then, of course if it isn't, take it back to Senor Stereo.

Here are the pictures. Forgie the water spots outside as it was drizzling that morning. But essentially those white glob like spots are all over the driver side and the other windows. Will these go away with time?

Re: Bad tint job?

Yes, that is pretty bad. That could either be one of two things:

-water: didn't squeegee that are at all
-glue: the adhesive on the tint dried up and they tried pushing it out after, which lifted the dried glue

A) Bad tint job. They should fix/refund...

B) Does that crane in the background of one of the pics say "Putzmeister?"

Re: Bad tint job?

Well went back to Senor Stereo and was told that the tint, Quantum, that I got takes a really long time to dry. Several weeks in fact. I've already noticed that most of the bubbles in that picture are gone. Its no longer that huge blob. I'll wait another couple of weeks. If they arent all gone then I'll raise a stink. Thanks for the support guys.

Re: Bad tint job?

Drying for tint doesn't take that long to dry at all...no matter what type of tint it is. The problem here is that they didn' take the time to remove most of the water through squeegee. Although, it may dry over time, it was something that could've been avoided had they spent the time to remove the water.

Re: Bad tint job?

I was told that tint can take 2 days to dry not weeks. Take it back and tell them to press it up againt the glass or remove the tint. What percent did you get. It seems light to me. I got 20% on my black coupe.

My only friend i that i depend on is blue. He makes sure i win. He makes me scared and hold on tight as i sweat. He is my only friend that gives me what i need from a push of a button.

Maybe it's been real humid in Miami. Let us know how it turns out.
