I wonder which type you use without without damaging to the wax layer. I just put some Black Magic Liquid Wax and it looks really nice. Need something to work with the previous wax layer but not against.

There are some washing+waxing in one solution but I am not sure if they actually work as claimed.

I usually only wash my car with cold water in the
shade. I won't let it get dirty enough to use anything
stronger. If I need to wash it with something I have
on hand Zymol car wash.........LOL

Most of it. Dawn is for taking everything off before a good claybar and wax job.

Dawn will strip most waxes, not sealants though. The alkalines are also bad for rubber and plastic trim.

I use Meg's Deep Crystal.

I'm a loyal Zaino Z7 Wash user.

However, any OTC car wash soap will suffice. For that, I would give the nod to Meguiar's Gold Glass. 1.5 gallons for under $10 at Costco (CANNOT beat that).

I find there to be only marginal differences between car washes. However, I do think the Zaino stuff is some of the best, as is the Poorboys. However, lately I have been using the NXT stuff since I happen to have a gallon of it sitting around. It seems to be working pretty well and not stripping the sealant to any noticeable degree.

A great one is "Supreme Purple". We use it for detailing at our Saturn dealership. Outstanding stuff, but I'm not sure if you can buy it in anything smaller than a commercial container, which is quite large (a good 4' high and 2-3' wide plastic barrel) None the less, the stuff is great! These days, I only wash my car at work now. We also have what's called "Super Clean", a spray on that's great for eatting away dirt, grime, grease, anything on your car, wheels, tires, wheel wells, etc before washing the car. That you can get in small containers, but you'll need a spray bottle to pour it into. I swear by the mix of Super Clean and Supreme Purple now. Wax... still looking, however. We don't have the best wax. (Though I did find, oddly enough, that the wax we do use works wonders on cleaning and polishing up chrome wheels better than most products I've ever used...)
