have a question before using pc 7424

im going to use my 7424 with some sonus swirl remover this week.i was wondering should i wash the car with dawn dishwashing liquid first to strip the car of wax,or does it really matter since ill be using the swirl remover.and what speed would you suggest to start at on the pc 7424.

I've never used the sonus swirl remover but I usually set it at on 3 to spread the product and turn it up to 6. Most people on the autopia forums work the PC at speed 6.

As for the dawn dishwashing liquid, you probably won't have to do it since you'll be polishing. Do you plan on claying before you polish?

yes i will be claying before.so i think thats all i need to do right.

I clay my car with a mix of dawn and water, then rinse off. You should be ready to polish.autopia-carcare.com This is very helpful.

If you're gonna polish, you need to wax. If you're gonna wax, then you might as well wash with dawn.

You should use Dawn to strip off the old wax. All the claybar will do is take off surface contaminants such as bugs, tar, etc. Use the Dawn before the clay or with the clay as a sort of lubricant as said above.

If you are polishing, you do not need to remove whatever wax you have on the car. The polish is abrasive and will remove the wax. Also, claying removes wax. Just wash the car as normal and clay and polish.
