Questions for those who use Zaino

First time getting Z2 and Z6. And first time washing/waxing my G. Appreicate if people can share their experience....so that i don't leave swirl marks/scratched on her !!!!

1) how many applications does a bottle of Z2 and Z6 last ?
2) what do you use to apply Z2/Z6 ? 100% cotton cloth, or microfiber tower, or others ? If you have the brand of the material you use, that would be very helpful.
3) what do you use to polish ?
4) No circular motions when applying /polishing, correct ?

Thanks in advance !!

Re: Questions for those who use Zaino

your best bet is to read the faq on the website. It is very imformative and will answer your questions. One thing you will need is either z-1 or the ZFX. Read the FAQ and you'll find out why.

1) I can do my car about 10+ times
2) Microfiber Polish Applicator (viper)
3) Nothing. I just use Zaino's sealant.
4) Correct.. Up and down motion.

Re: Questions for those who use Zaino

If you are new to Zaino I would recommend the Total Protection Show Car Kit (ZKIT-1)for $85. It includes cotton applicators, Z7, Z2, Z5, ZFX, Z6 and claybar and also mixing bottles for Z2/ZFX and Z5/ZFX.

1. Use less than 1oz per car for Z2 (or Z5). Sal Zaino claims you can do a Corvette 20 times with one bottle. For Z6 he recommends 1/2 oz per car and says one bottle can do 20-30 cars.
2. You can get small square cotton applicators from www.zainostore.com. Two are included in the ZKIT-1 I mentioned above and they can be purchased separately for $2.50 each.
3. Sal recommends 100% cotton white bathtowels (Fieldcrest or Cannon brand only) to polish off the Z2/Z5 residue. He is very **** about towels as can be seen here.
4. On the Zaino web-site the following is recommended:
Squirt a dime size dab of polish on your applicator and rub it into your paint using circular hand motions. Then, go over the same area using a straight back and forth motion on top panels and an up and down motion on side panels.

Re: Questions for those who use Zaino

1) One bottle of Z2/Z5 will last a long long time. Apply it thin!
Thin works best, and thin saves product. As another post suggests, read the FAQ on the Zaino site.

2) While I follow most recommendations to the letter, I don't use the Zaino applicator. I use a foam applicator. I follow the tips to spritz the applicator with Z-6 (I also use water). By using foam, I find I am able to get six coats from one ounce of Z-2 or Z-5 (with ZFX). That's three coats on two cars. I also use a halogen work lamp to help me see where Zaino has been applied.

3) Not sure what you mean by what to use to polish. If you mean what I use to buff off Zaino, then I do follow Zaino's recommendation to use high quality cotton towels. I know others use microfiber.

Re: Questions for those who use Zaino

Thanks.
I don't plan to use ZFX (i can wait 24 hrs). When applying Z2 or Z5, should the applicator (foam or 100%cotton) be moist ? Is it okay to apply Z2/Z5 with microfiber ?

Yes, i do plan to use microfiber or cotton towel to buff off Zaino..

Re: Questions for those who use Zaino

I highly recommend ZFX.

Anyways, I would use the cotton applicator. As for appling Z2/Z5 with microfiber, yes...if it is a microfiber applicator. Otherwise you will be wasting alot of Zainos using a microfiber towel.

If you car is new, light in color, or have no swirlmarks, don't waste your time with Z5 right now. Just apply a few coats of Z2.
