Stained wheels?

Hey guys,
Just bought a 35 coupe 6mt yesterday.. Well my question is that my 19" gunmetal wheels have some sort of black stain on them all over in various places . Ive tried a few different polishing compounds to try and remove them with no luck. Anyone else have this problem...could the brake dust stain the wheel? Any products you know of that might work? any advise would be much appreciated.
thanks
Jason Quincy

ive had that happen to me before..what it most likely is is some type of acid that some stupid person at a carwash used on the rims...i took my car to get it detailed and they stained my rims with this acid they use on certain type of rims..apparently this acid is not meant for us and so corrodes the paint..it wont come off..you're gonna have to get them all repainted...but this is your chance to get hyperblack or black rims!

if its your lips you have to get them repolished by professionals...i had to do the same thing when i bought some used rims, it is quite exp. the other stuff like mothers, blu magic, etc didnt do shhiieet. i know a good place in teh bay if you are intersted http://www.wheeltechniques.com. you are looking at about $125/wheel. but they do a good job. good luck.

put up some pics and we can assess the damage

I'm thinking of exchanging them out for chromed wheels after seeing this ad on ebay. Check this out:click here

I'll get a pic as soon as I can.

try claybar. if that doesn't work, try some roach juice (wheel sheild).

I think diablo1356 is right on, I think some acid corroded the paint which means its in there for good. I think i'm going to either have to have the wheels painted or get em chromed. And im leaning towards chroming em right now.

Yeah I had the same problem too and was told I had to get my wheels refinished because the acid ate the clearcoat and it was a done deal.
