I got my porter cable and want a kit that includes all the polishes I need. I also want a velcro backing plate. I know about autopia and autoweek, but there are so many different choices and I dont know what is good for our soft Infiniti paint. My paint is pretty bad. How is the sonus kit? What do you guys have?

PM PICUS on here or on AUTOPIA.ORG he has probably done more G's than anyone on here. I have a cyclo so I use cyclo pads with Menzerna polishes. WIth the Porter Cable, most people use Lake Country, Propel, etc. I would try out Danase.com or Exceldetail.com. I have ordered from both and they are both great in customer service.
You may also want to look into the edge system. A bit pricier upfront but not when you realize you have 2 sides of the pad to use.

i use a 6" backing plate, w/ 7.5" pads from lake country manufacturing. For polishes I use Menzerna Intensive and Menzerna Final. You can purchase all these from properautocare.com. Actually I purchased the "menzerna advanced swirl remover kit" from them, which comes w/ pads, polishes, and a couple of other little things. Let me know if you need some help, I live locally and would be happy to lend a hand.

I agree the PC7424 with lake country pads is probably one of the more effective/easiest combinations to use. Many first time users are suprised how easy it is to use and how well it works. This is a good buffer/pad combo if you want a full kit that allows you to polish and protect. Good Luck!

I use Lake Country pads. I've heard good things about Edge pads too.
For polishes, the compound you use is up to you - the only recommendation I will make is Menzerna PO106FF. It's expensive, but it's *invaluable* when dealing with finicky Infiniti paint. It's the only polish I've used that will consistently finish down clean on Infiniti paint.

Suggestions? Dont buy what you dont need. Be careful with pre-assembled kits.
You cant go wrong with any of the Optimum polishes, both Compound and polish finish real well. The Hyper Compound is a bit aggressive for most maintenance needs. There is no, one magic polish which is going to fit all of your needs......So be prepared to spend "a little" just to fill your needs.
Have a Orange LC on hand, probably one of the most widely used polishing pads available......

^Ya I think I am going to get yellow, grey, orange, and white pads from LC.
After 3 years of having my car washed at the car wash and not using the proper techniques, I have pretty bad swirls. I am going to get Menzerna IP and Menzerna FPII. Do you think I am going to need Menzerna PG to go down deeper? Its seems like a lot of polish and I might only use it once. Any comments?
Also are the Lake Country pads velcro? I want to get a velcro backing plate and velcro pads?
