Grease/residue
Hey all,
I just had my car serviced recently (some exhaust work), and I noticed two spots in my car that appear to be black exhaust residue. One is on the roof of the car near the sunroof like the mechanic's greasy head hit it. The other is on the floor behind the passenger seat, likely from when I had my car cleaned and one of the employees stepped back there with greasy feet.
Anyway, what can I use to get this muck out of my celing fabric and floor carpet without spreading the scum or ruining the material?
Thanks in advance,
Brian

For grease in the carpet, Floex (available at Home DEpot, etc. by carpet cleaning machines usually) is pretty good. For the headliner, some interior cleaner like that mentioned above or Meguiars Quick Interior Detailer (available at most car parts stores) may work. If not, I have found that Detailer's Pride Total Interior Cleaner works pretty well for tough spots but smells pretty bad.

Thanks for the info...I forgot to mention one other tough spot. Someone spilled a protein shake in my rear carpet a few months ago while on the road. We got most of it up but there was still some left deep in the carpet and I never got around to cleaning it up. It's now kind of hardened and the carpet is rather unsightly in that area. Any idea if that Griot's interior cleaner would work for this too, or if I should try something else?
The 303 Cleaner and Spot Remover works great for me on grease and other difficult build-ups on carpets and fabrics. I also use it on the dashboard, console, doors, arm rests, etc as well.
