Re: tire dressing

Your installer is correct... wax protects and adds shine to the clearbra.

Re: tire dressing

I still have not tried anything that comes close to the Meguire's Endurance gel (the purple stuff). I personally love the deep, glossy wet look. For the person that said they just want it black, not wet-looking, just use a little less and, when you're done, take a dry rag to the tires to get rid of the excess. Or, if you can find it (I haven't seen it on the shelves for quite some time), try the regular tire dressing from Meguire's.

Re: tire dressing

Check out my sponsor... www.prowax.com

A lot of professional detailers, car washes and such use their products. They sell bulk and get relabled for mosts of the products you buy over the counter.

They are putting a special page together to allow G35drivers to purchase at a discount. For those of you going to the Showoff Classic in Pomona, they will be completely detailing my Sedan and creating a "G35" care kit which will also be posted on that page. A lot of their stuff is 100:1 mixture, so it will last you a lot longer than over the counter products.

They also have a new tire dressing that has no "sling", meaning it will keep the shine and not "sling" off on your fenders as you drive. They will also be putting some kits together for our different interiors and colors.

Cheers, ted

Re: tire dressing

I've been using "NoTouch Wet'n Protect" for years. I think it's a great product. It last for weeks, doesn't leave whitish residue, has the best wet look, easy application and you can buy a set for a good price at Costco.

Is it real shiny when you are done?

Re: tire dressing

I like the purple gel stuff the best. The zaino one isn't that great.

Re: tire dressing

Premo (the pink bottle) from prowax.com is the only one (that I've tried) that doesn't run-off.

Re: tire dressing

I use Meguire's Endurance gel, it lasts longer than anything I've tried and looks very very nice.

Re: tire dressing

I've tried all the tire dressings mentioned here. Right now I'm trying Stoner's Tire Shine. It seems to be pretty good stuff. Vary the shine by the number of coats. Lasts a long time.

Re: tire dressing

Well, since it won't let me edit my last reply anymore, when I bought my G, it was in the showroom, I asked the detail guy what he used on the tires, they looked so rich black, but not shiny, he said he just cleaned them really good, and I have had the car a month and a half now, and the tires still look great, I have just been keeping them clean.

Re: tire dressing

Thanks everyone for all the ideas. I went out and bought the Mequire's Endurance Gel. Unfortunately, the weather has been crap for the last 2 weeks (raining) and I haven't been able to baby my G. Maybe next week......

Re: tire dressing

Where do you get your Meguiars stuff? I got a Meguiars Kit that had the car soap, wax, tire shine (not the purple gel) and in between waxing spray for 20 bucks which I thought was a great deal. But I don't want to have to buy a kit everytime I want one product. For some reason both of the Pep Boys in my area have closed down and I'm not really a fan of Kragens or the other auto shops. Is Meguiars only sold in detail shops?
