wtf? plastic unpainted part of sideview mirrors were waxed!

wtf? plastic unpainted part of sideview mirrors were waxed!

i got my car back and the shop waxed the unpainted part of the sideview mirrors. its now a powdery faded black looking piece of shiznit. any suggestions on how to fix this?

a few coats of Mothers Back to Black should fix it. can get it at walmart or any auto store.

I heard peanut butter works the best(not chunky). But I have not needed to try it yet.

Try some Armor-All. I often got wax on the rubber trim of my other ride ('87 Buick Grand National). Armor-All always did the trick. Might have to apply it several times tho.

use 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and water

+1 for back to black. I used it on mine a year ago and the water still beads up on them and they are black as coal.

i would do the rubbing alcohol trick mentioned above.

then dress it with your rubber/plastic dressing of your choice.

Yes, I agree also here. Clean off the wax (Alcohol works well), and then apply Mother's Back to Black. I just did mine today and it's black again

imho from experience, back to black is not great. if you're going to
order online, get the real deal. Wizard's Black Renew.

www.detailersparadise.com has them.

Got mine from Pep Boys. Works wonders...Did mine the other day and it's black and stays black for quite a while.

Oh, and I forgot to mentioned that the liquid is sorta milky looking. This is good since it isn't "painting" the plastic black but rejuvenating it to black again.
