Help Remove Swirl Marks / Scratches On Black Obsidian 07 G35S
I purchased an 07 Black Obsidian G35S Sedan about a month ago. Today I finally had a chance to wash the car. Sure enough I noticed significant swirl marks and minor scratches. What is the process of eliminating the swirl marks and scratches? Please provide as much detail as possible (i.e. product used such as Zaino etc.., by hand or machine). Or is there a perfessional shop in the Southern California specializing in removing swirl marks and scratches. All feedback in much appreciated.

I have an 03 BO sedan and it had crazy swirl marks when I got it used. I did the best I could with a clay bar, a 3 stages of wax but you could still see it.
I finally broke down and went with a shop recommended guy for removing this stuff. He did a high speed polish which required several steps, pads, and compounds working towards a finer grit each time. It came out great! This was about 6 months ago, but the car still looks significantly better than it did. Plus after a good wash and wax it looks great. I would post pics, but she is dirty as crap right now.
You have a new car, so try to use a clay bar and a waxing sequence first. If you use a buffer, make sure it is an orbital buffer. Black shows everything, so it is not uncommon to see some of this hear and there. Try to take care of it yourself, but if it is bad then take it to a reputable shop. I say reputable because the high speed polish process can really F'up your paint if not done properly. BTW I paid about $200 out the door and he had it for over 8 hours.

It all depends on how much time, effort, and $ you want to invest. This is a link to a very good forum, though obviously slanted towards Meguiars products.
