Re: does Lanka work?

I've heard a lot of good things about it on the Lexus forums, but haven't used it myself.

Re: does Lanka work?

I just finished preparing my wife's A4 for sale (G35X due next month) and used Langka on both chips and fine clearcoat scatches. It did a great job and saved me many hours over sanding and compounding.

Anyone want to give those of us who’ve never heard of Lanka brief summary?
Thanks!

Scratch & minor flaw repair. Supposed to be amazing. I haven't had to use it yet (knock on wood), but I've heard alot of good things from the Lexus forums.

Re: does Lanka work?

Summary of Langka use: You have a chip; not through to bare metal. Using a fine brush or toothpick, flow paint into the chip area. Do it in several coats, allowing it to dry a few minutes between coats. Build up, until slightly over the edge of the chip and above the original paint surface. Allow to dry from 1-36 hours. Wrap a cotton cloth (old t-shirt) around the small plastic sheet supplied. Put a drop of Langka on the sheet and rub over the surface of the chip. The "blob" above the paint surface will start to melt away (seconds to few minutes, depending on drying time). Continue until the chip surface is flat to the paint surface. You may have to use a second drop of Langka. The Langka substitutes for having to wet-n-dry sand down the blob and then compound out the scatches made by the paper. It works without leaving scratches or effecting the original paint or clearcoat. I'd say it cuts the time to repair scratches by 75% and does a better job. Its also great for repairing surface scratches in the clearcoat.
