My First Customer, A Porsche

Well some of you may or may not know, but I've decided to start detailing vehicles in my area on a part time basis. My target audience is people with higher end vehicles that don't mind paying the premium to have someone detail their car. I had my first customer over the weekend and thought I would share my experience.

I have been using solely Poorboys SSR polishes ever since I got my PC, but after speaking with George from Detailed Image on phone, he recommended Menzerna 0106FF polish. I ordered the 0106FF from George as well as some other supplies and I was anxious to use the Menzerna so I could compare it to the SSR products. I am so glad that I got the 0106FF because it is definitely a much better polish.........and the results definitely showed it. If the 0106FF was a G35, the SSR products would be an Altima.

So I used the 0106FF on an orange pad with my PC. I then applied two coats of Zaino Z5 for a sealant. I was going to use Poorboys EX-P for the sealant but I remembered Kevin (picus) telling me that he liked the results that Z5 gave on a dark vehicle. I let the Z5 cure over night and this morning I applied a coat of Natty Blue's Paste Wax. The Natty Blue most definitely added a lot of depth to the paint and the shine was absolutely incredible.

I apologize for the lack of "before" pictures.........my wife was going out and needed to take the camera with her. I am not so sure the "after" pictures are all that good either as it is a rather dark day here. Photography is definitely not one of my strong points.

The customer will be picking his car up whenever the roads dry up in the next day or two........hopefully he'll be satisfied.

Anyways, here are some pics.

Before

After

All said and done, it was about 8 hours in total (including interior). Since this was my first time detailing someone else's car, I wanted to make sure I took my time.

Great work Shane, and a sweet Porsche to boot!

On my way into work this morning, I was behind a burgundy Carrera that had a cage in it... obviously a guy that appreciates the performance of those great machines!
