first ding
So I had this weekend all planned out for a thorough detail session. Got all my stuff from Detailed Image, thanks George, and a free weekend. Well, I am driving to work this morning and a pod thingy drops out of a tree and makes a nice ding on my trunk lid. #*@!. Anyway, now on the search for the best ding doctor. Should I just do the entire detail anyway (clay,sealant, wax) or do everything but the trunk. Dont know what tools the ding doctor would be using and just wondering if a newly waxed trunk would make the job more difficult. Damn trees.

can't remember but were our G's trunk lids aluminum?
if the ding is accessible from the inside panel then the PDR tech will use
his standard metal tools. if the ding is not accessible, the tech will use
a glue puller, but if the lid is aluminum he will have a hard time. also, if
your lid was painted then he wouldn't be able to use a glue puller either.
other then that, he may or may not place his guide light on the trunk
using a suction cup.
all in all, it's best that you detail the trunk after the service.
