leather conditioner -- lexol?

Whats up --

I got some leather conditioner to make it look shiny n stuff... basiclly my problem is that the stuff is white so when I apply it to the seat the white lotion goes in the dotted seats am I applying too much liquid?

Re: leather conditioner -- lexol?

I had the same problem. Wat I ended up doing was applying a little less at a time on that section of the seat and just did it several times until it looked fully covered. The spots that did get the white lotion into the dots of the seat I just covered with a rag and "lightly beat" the seat. couple times and you'll get the hang of it.... I love the lexol though works great! I have read that if you are looking for even more of a new leather smell that zaino has something everyone has been saying smells like leather in a bottle. I have been thinking of trying it out. but for now I'm a lexol fan! good luc with it!

Does it stay there, or disappear after a while? You know, when I first got my G, I was getting some little fuzzies out of those "dots" but that seems to have gone away!

The only problem with lexol is it spots! It lasts forever but you have to go over every surface a million times to make it smooth. Problem is....I can't find anything better.

You should try Hidefood. Its easier to handle than lexol but it is like waxing the car..you gotta buff it.

What do you mean "it spots", some areas shinier than others?

Re: leather conditioner -- lexol?

Lexol is the best.
Have you tried spraying it on the towel, and then rubbing it on the leather?

Re: leather conditioner -- lexol?

I loved lexol, but when i tried zaino leather condition, and cleaner my preference was permanetly swayed.

It is simply the best, smell, not real shiny, or greesy, applies really easily, simply is pure leather in a bottle!!!

I nevered spray directly on the surface. You really have to "work" it in into every square mm or you can see spots that you miss. I used it on my 330 with no problem but the difference in quality of leather must be the difference. I'll try the Zaino stuff and see if that's any better - thanks Eric for the suggestion.

Re: leather conditioner -- lexol?

It's ok if it begins to spot because of those large pores we have on our seats. Just use some cotton sponge next time for application. As for the spots you have now, don't worry about it as it will dry in a couple of days.

Re: leather conditioner -- lexol?

I was told in the Lexus forum to use 303 on everything on the interior, including the leather. I hesitated, but then 1 of the gurus there said that 99% of cars nowdays have a vinyl (or something) protectant coating on the leather. So, in essence, applying a vinyl/plastic protectant is ideal.

303 Products
btw, it also has UV40 protection

Re: leather conditioner -- lexol?

There only certain automotive leathers that use the synthetic coating on the surface of the leather. I double checked as this came up a long time ago. Infiniti says no coating on the leather, so leather conditioner is still your best treatment.

Re: leather conditioner -- lexol?

I have used lexol for over 15 years with no problems. I usually put it on thick and massage it into the leather. I am sure my wife is jealous that the car seats get a better massage than she does. I let the conditioner sit for about a day on the seats then I wipe the excess off. The seats will feel gross for about a day then after that they are glove soft.

I am just waiting until I run out then I am going to try some Zaino.
