but if i dont want to spend the money.... can i strip the anodization (or whatever you call it) and just polish them??

has anyone tried going to Volk???
i mean it's just nuts.... i'm thinking of going to American Express about it.... i think they "double" warranties... is there any warranties on these.... i know they probably consider this damage..... BUT we just used it normal... the customer service for my AMX gold is usually pretty good.. i might try them.

 

msb did u just buy ur setup? ive had mine for about 6 months. i have used nothing but regular soap and water.

 

as u can see from the pictures. its just water runoff that has dried and has rainbowed my wheels. the second picture is the same but it has brake dust caked on top. man this sucks.

 

did you wash your the wheels while they were hot?

 

had my GT7s for over a year now.... started having problems during the winter... and no, it wasnt salt or any of that stuff.

 

what like after i drove the car.... or when it was sunny out??!?!

come on, this is bull****.... there should have been warnings on these wheels "for show purposes only. do not use on the street"

i do wash during the day but i do wipe the wheels with a towel thoroughly. Its just the water that you cannot get into crevices of the wheels that formed that after driving. I do not understand the process of the rainbowing. are u telling me that simply water with possibly .13 percent soap can make ur wheels turn out the way they are?

If anyone can lend me a hand on how to personally take care of these wheels without professional help, plz chime in!! =)

 

well it sounds like the professionals can't even do it....

so is there ANY type of polish that is safe for it?? i guess not?

 

I chromed the lips of my volks after a slight curbing... I did it over a year ago now and they still look frickn awesome!

Get them chromed and stop the madness!

am i at risk too then? i have TE37s...or this problem only affects those wheels with polished or machined lip?
