my car looks dirty inside.... carpet is really brown and dirty..

im tired of my car looking like a beat up car so im wondering any quick or easy way to make the carpet shine?

Also my floor mats are dirty but im thinking soap and water can clean it..

spend the money on a professional interior detail...they'll shampoo the carpets and they'll look brand new...same goes for the leather

I use a Bissell spot bot to clean various spills and carpet/upholstery around the house......

I have used it on my wifes rugs/mats when she spilled coffee.... works like a charm......Really good investment if you have alot of areas you need to clean on a monthly basis....

spot bot

I usually shampoo the mats an carpet every once in a while. I need to do a summer cleaning on the whole interior

Most carpets don't shine, although there is a sparkle in the carpet dye used in the G. For the mats just take them in the house, put them in your tub with some water & laundry soap, get a scrub brush and clean them up. Rinse thoroughly under the regular faucet or with hand held. Hang to dry for about 12 hours. Like new.

For the carpets there are lots of options. You can do a similar soap and water routine although I don't recommend it, due to the amount of soap and needed to be extracted by a shop vac. You can buy a carpet cleaning product designed either for you car or your home. Spray on, follow instructions, let dry You can also buy a commercial liquid cleaning product (purple dry cleaner perhaps Zep) from Home Depot. (My choice.) Put it in a spray bottle and spray lightly - a few squirts on carpet. Use a scrbu brush to agitate and them a clean terry towel soaked with rubbing alcohol (in another spray bottle) to rub over the carpet. That acts as an additional cleaner and helps to dry the cleaner. Let dry for a few minutes. You're done and have your concoctions made to do it anytime.

i was doing what rbull said but still couldnt get them looking new, then i was gonna by new mats to i decided why not, took them to flagship, blasted them with the high pressure soap, then high pressure rinse, looking real clean now. probably will destroy mats over time, but hell there 150ish, every what two year.

I'm really need to clean my carpet to. I'm not that worried about the mats, but i've got questions about the carpet itself. I already have bissel carpet steamer/cleaner for the house. Will that work well for the carpet in the car? Has anyone else used one of these on their interior? If so, how long did you let it dry for and what were your drying methods?

^ I don't have one and haven't used one. However it's not likely any problem at all since it's designed for home use. If you're worried about drying time just use a shop vac to suck up excess moisture. Alternatively get a couple of clean white towels and use a little elbow grease rubbing the moisture out.

The carpets in most cars will dry very fast with a warm dry and windy day. Open the windows or preferably doors and they'll dry easily in a couple of hours or much less if you use the other steps I mentioned.

you just needed stronger detergent. If you put spray/n/wash or carpet equivalent on first you'll have them perfectly clean.
