Question regarding car wash
Question regarding car wash
am going to Zaino my coupe soon, but I was wondering if anyone use just normal hose to spray water on your coupe or Electric Pressure Washer....
What is the real advantage of use an Electric Pressure Washer apart from being more powerful
Thanks for any advance!!!

Re: Question regarding car wash
Well the pressure washer is better because you stated it yourself. It removes more of the surface dirt and other stuff so that when you begin to hand wash there is less there for you to press into your finish and thereby scratch it.

Re: Question regarding car wash
If your pressure washer has too much power you can F..k your paint up so bad it will need a repaint. Rule of thumb stay away from gas powered pressure washers. So electric washers are also very powerful-read the PSI rating and stand back

Re: Question regarding car wash
I have a commercial-type 3GPM 2000PSI pressure washer. Even with the 15 degree nozzle I've never had a problem with damaging the paint on cars. I've used it to blast the crusty dirt off my in-law's black I-30 for years with no problems. As long as you hold the nozzle a reasonable distance from the car it shouldn't harm the paint (2-4 feet). You just adjust the distance depending on how stubborn the dirt is. It's got to be easier on the paint than rubbing off the remaining grit, even with a wooley wash mitt.
Be cautious at close distances though, it can take your body side molding or any striping or other decals off.
The only time I had a problem was with a friend's re-painted plastic bumpers. Took the poorly adhering paint off in big flakes.
