Todays G35 detail, rain, a few new products..

I did get to sample a few of the Surf City Garage products today. I didnt however, feel comfortable trying any wax/sealant/glazes on a car I wont be able to monitor. So I only used a limited amount of products from Surf City.
A couple new products I tried today. One was the White Knight Power stick. A clever product, made in America, all by hand. Those deep dish wheels with closely aligned calipers have finally met there match, so this first shot is the Powerstick, which easily attaches to a cordless drill. Vaiable speed is the way to go with this. A little high priced at about $50.00. I received two sizes in the mail from the maker himself. It has some faults, but the benefits far outweighs what it lacks. Its really designed for wheel dish and not wheel rim lips or anything beyond the hub or lugs. I have always had difficulties reaching in the Carrera wheels, and this should do the trick. I also used the Surf City "Steel Wheels" wheel cleaner for these G35 wheels which worked very well! And there was quite a bit a brake dust up front on this G since I last detailed it over a year ago. The SC Steel Wheels (according to directions) can be used for tire and wheel cleaning, so I guess it makes it an all in one cleaner for both wheels and tires. I didnt realize that until I was finished with it.

It took quite a bit of clay on this G, as its owner lives adjacent to a collector road which collects canyon traffic bypassing the frwy, and city traffic opting for the canyon instead of the congested So. Cal frwy system. The Mothers clay worked very well, although I wish i had my medium grade bar instead as it would have required a little less effort having to go over the areas several times. But the clay holds up very well.
I was concerned with the overcast skies, so I rushed starting the car with a clay and wash, and dint get any before pics like I normally do. Once polished with FS BS LCC and a Orange 4" pad, my son and i put up the EZ up because the sun came out and started to warm the surface. Then it happened. After I hit it with UPP, in a matter of about 15 minutes, it clouded up again, and............

Rained for 10-15 minutes. Then the sun came out, humid as he**. Hit the interiors with diluted Charliesoap, dressed leather with DG leather conditioner, tires with Surf City Beyond Black Tire Pro. It only leaves the wheels nice and black, no hi gloss with this stuff, just nice deep matte. Kind of weird as it sprays out blue, but dissapears after several moments. Wheels treated with Surf City Diamond Edge Wheel Dressing, which is a nice cleaner, polish, protectant. My son treated all four, then he removed at the end of the detail. Smooth application, gets a thumbs up from my 19 yr old. And hes done enough wheel cleaning to know whether or not its decent.

Hats off to my son, whom I could manage these days without due to Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis). Tennis Elbow sounds so woosish.....I had to throw that medical term in......lol
My detailing days may be appoaching an end soon........
Have a good weekend everyone!

I'm not sure about that particular one, however the Powerball is highly recommended.
