If your car is black, try to get the black version?

Use the 2" wide type because it covers faster, and start from the highest part of the hood and work down, overlapping each strip so that the wind doesn't peel as much of the tape off. Also, pop the hood to get it wrapped around the edges. You can also add duct tape over the top of the painter's tape for added protection from rock chips etc.

Does anyone else sorta roll their eyes when they see a car done this way?

not really... if you have an aftermaket bumper/hood the last thing you want to do is have rock chips or get it re-painted..

I've personally only done this once on my prelude when it was first painted and the CC was still soft, and twice on the GF's RAV4 when we drove it back from chicago 2000+mi. Just being able to peel off the amount of bugs splattered on the front end was worth it, would have taken forever to scrub all those critters out

I did that when i drove to yosemite. haha. Yeah get the widest blue tape possible or it will take forever. Seriosly some ppl think it's an overkill or will laugh, but when i got back from yosemite, it took me all of 5min to take all the tape off from my bumper and mirrors and front of the hood. Everything looked clean except for the rest of my car! It will save you a lot of time from having to remove all the sap and tar and bugs. Not to mention rock chips!

Make sure you wash the car before you put the tape on.
