Leafblower

I have an OB coupe and something that really pisses me off is how dirty this **** gets... Today I washed + dried + waxed my car took me about 3 hours (because I'm **** and thorough when I wash/dry/wax) and lucky enough I got locked out of the house. So as I'm waiting about 30 min for someone else to come home and let me in, I noticed that at the end of the 30 min my car is fvckin dirty again.. Little dust particles all over the car. I don't know, maybe I didn't get the wax in hard enough. Anyways, by the time I met up with my friend, a few hours later, he said "I thought you washed your car." You can only tell it's washed/waxed by feeling it and feeling the smoothness, it's hard to see the glossiness under the dust. During the 30 min wait, I kinda blew on the hood and noticed the dust comes off when I blow (blow air that is). I was thinking of getting some kind of cheap leafblower that blows warm/cold air (not hot, basically) and blow those little fvckers off when they get on there, which happens every F'in day. But before I do that, can anyone think of any downsides to this before I do it, or know a better way to clean the light dust off w/o washing?

A lot of people dry their car after washing it with a leaf blower. I don't imagine it would hurt anything but it would be a pain to do daily.

Pick up a California Duster from Walmart. It's around 10 bucks. I love it. Great tool for getting rid of the dust between washes. It was recommended to me by a buddy of mine who uses a leaf blower to dry his car after washing.

Um, are you mocking the idea of using a leafblower on a car or something? Or just harmless off-to-the-side joke?

codemonkey, what exactly is that? I'll look for it when I go to Wal-Mart tomorrow.

And the only concern I have for using a leafblower is that it blows hot air.. I think, I never used one. And I don't think hot air is good for the paint, yes? I hope they're not too expensive..

Welcome to the world of owning a black car. I just washed/hand waxed my mom's black MB CL600 yesterday, and it already looks dirty again/has lots of noticeable dust on it . You can't win.

Sears has a leafblower for $20.
Just picked one up myself this weekend and gave it a whirl in my car.
Works great.
