Chroming Plastic..

I tried searching for the DIY for the stuff that's supposed to polish plastic to a chrome finish.. I don't remember if it was on this forum or not. I'm going to repaint my headlight housings tonight, but i want to re-chrome the bezel part so my lights seem brighter. Anyone know the stuff i'm lookin for?

Nevermind. i found the thread, it was on the accord forum... http://board.accordtuner.com/showthread.php?t=24498
So it looks like it jus brings shine to the plastic and it doesnt chrome it.. So what's the natural color of the headlight bezel?

I believe if you sand off all the chrome on your bezels, you will end up with a off white color.

I don't know what the first picture is but it looks like copper to me.

that mirror like finish is done to black plastic, and its just shiny black plastic at that point. There is no way to DIY chrome onto plastic. To "chrome" plastic, you have to apply vaporized aluminum through a vacuum deposition process which a few shops can do. Its somewhat expensive, for shrouds, expect at least $100-200. You are probably better off buying another pair of headlights and swapping the bezels

its either white or clear, the corner piece by the turn signal is actually all transparent camber once you sand through the coating
