Your vents pull in whatever smell is coming from outside, so I'd first make sure the roadkill isn't cooking on the bottom of your car somewhere....

Then that probably explains the dirty fried oil smell too... Burning clutch smells kinda like burning rubber....

It's worth a try. It'll only cost you $15 and 20 minutes of your time. But unless you can get all the steak off the pipes, it may still come back....

If it's from outside your car, the charcoal filter may help somewhat. They don't work on all types of odors and will only reduce the ones they work on.

Best to get the chunks of roadkill off first.

I had a plastic bag melt onto my exhaust that caused a real smell problem once.

Where can you find an in-cabin filter for $15?

I saw this weird kind of air-freshner as wal-mart once. It's a small bag with some viscous liquid in it. You're supposed to dump in in your windshield washer fluid tank and everytime you spray your windshield and put your climate control to outside air....you smell the fresh scent. I thought it was interesting...don't know if they still sell it.
