STEP AWAY FROM THE NU FINISH!!!!!
"best" wax is VERY subjective and it really depends what you are looking to accomplish. What many don't realize is you can use the best wax in the world but if you don't properly prep your cars surface, it won't matter at all what you use. Prepping the surface makes up for probably 90-95% of how the shine and reflectiveness with look. Here are the basic steps you should do to get an amazing looking finish.
wash the car. preferable with 2 buckets. One bucket with the saop and water and one with just clean water to rinse your washing mit before putting it back into the soap. This will help prevent adding swirls to your paint.
Clay your car. Such an important step that so many don't do. There are contaminants you can't get off your paint just by washing. Go here for more info. http://autopia.org/forum/hall-fame/1...ness-clay.html
Wash the car again after claying.
Polish your car. Usually with a rotary or high speed orbital polisher (not the kind you get at target and such). This is what will get rid of swirled paint and minor imperfections. Your paint will look and feel like glass after this.
Once polished, use a good sealant like Klass, Zaino, Optimum, Poorboys etc.
Final step, apply a quality wax like P21s, Pinnacle, Natty's etc.
Might be more than you wanted to know but the bottom line is if you haven't done these steps with your car, it's not going to matter a whole lot what kind of wax you use because you won't be getting the full benefits unless your cars surface is taken car of first.

Check one of the other 50 or so threads in this section with this same question. There is no one best wax. If there was there would be no other waxes on the market. There are numerous criteria to be considered in making of choice of wax or a choice of a sealant. Do some research on this thread and make your own choice.
I've been using Meguires products for a while now, NXT wash, two coats NXT wax, and a 'quik polish' spray. I think I'm going to change it up to Collinites Fleet Wax though, I've heard good things about it's longevity and shine.
Any newer OTC wax will show decent results if you take the right steps to prep the paint. Make sure to clay the paint twice a year before you wax and you will easily be impressed by the results. After that of course the addiction starts and you will soon get all wrapped up in how to prep and polish paint before waxing or sealing and its all down hill from there.

I use Zaino Z2, Z5, Chemical Guys Pro Polish and soon to use Menzerna's SIP and PO106ff. The wax i use is CG's Pete 53. Im interested in finding out how CG's pro polish will compare to the PO106ff.
