Hard water spots on spoiler

I have some rather large (1 to 2 inches in diameter) water spots on the spoiler of my G. I don't know how they got there since I garage it at home and park in a garage at work. I am always careful to completely dry when I am finished washing it.

Regardless, they are there. The detail guy I go to said there isn't anything he can do to remove them because they are down to the clearcoat. Is there anything I can do?

maybe some kinda substance fell from the ceiling of the garage, i.e. pipes, etc.

have you tried vinegar? if vinegar can't take it off, it might not be a water spot at all. It might be some other type of corrosive substance. In any case, if a water sport could penetrate a clear coat, then I would be speaking to the service manager at the dealership.

FWIW, the service manager said that the sun down here (Florida) can bake water spots in pretty quickly. I don't know much about cars, or Florida for that matter since I recently moved here, but that doesn't sound very believable.
