question about mr.clean autodry

I used the product for the first time today on my G35 and I live in sourthern california. I rinsed the car with regular water then sprayed it with soap and after done washing, I rinsed with regular water. After that I rinsed the car with the deionized water and after it completely dried, I noticed that I had a lot of hardwater stains all over my car and my windows looked horrible. It almost looked like I used regular water and just let it dry. Any suggestions?

Re: question about mr.clean autodry

What do you mean by regular water? Did you rinse it using separate hose water or did you rinse it with the Mr. Clean rinse water (the middle setting, not the DI setting)?

I think the key to good results is keeping the car completely wet until the final DI rinse.

Oh, as long as the final rinse is de-ionized, you should not be getting any spots like that, unless the filter really doesn't de-ionize the water. Did the spots just wipe off, or are they like permanent? If they just wipe off, and leave no residue, then it would be de-i, but if it's leaving the "permanent" white spots, the de-ionizer is not doing it's job. I use bottled de-i water for a final rinse on my car, and have never gotten a "hard water" spot, any soft spots it left, wiped right off with a damp towel! Hmmm, I'd like to see what others with very hard water are experienceing, I will probably just stick to my current method for now!

Re: question about mr.clean autodry

there were mixed results. Some spots were clearly white while others were hardly visible and was able to wipe out with a damp towel. But my windows were just horrible. Maybe I should retry it and I'll let you guys know

Re: question about mr.clean autodry

I was going to buy that stuff today but decided against it. You can't ever make a product like that work perfectly. With a car like the G35, I like a little TLC when I wash. If you want a good tip on making a speedy wash. Buy the best soap (no dishwasher soap), the best terry cloth sponges, and a California wiping blade (should be at local auto parts store near the california dusters). This blade works great on our car because it is all smooth lines. You will seriously dry this car (the major parts) in like 60 seconds. Take a polishing rag with your favorite wax to hit the spots with a little water (wax loves a little water) and that way your baby is always SHINY!
Just my $.02. I love washing my car anyhow, makes me feel like more of a man HAHAHAHA

ps I just got my G yesterday. Black with black leather, 6-speed, Brembo's, Premium package, Aero package, changing out dash from J's, Alpine IVA D300 touchscreen DVD, Alpine Nav, Alpine 12" sub, Alpine 5 channel Amp, OZ racing 19" rims (Superleggera III's), Borla Exhaust, K&N Intake (most of it is on order or about to be ordered). The intake I'm still not sure about. Any suggetsions?

Also any suggestions on the front lower kits? I like the one they show on strictlyZ's Mesh grille add but they don't sell the freakin body part just the mesh. Anyone know where I can find that damn thing? The one with the big air damn holes? That thing is PIMP!

Laterzzzz,

-J

Just got the G! :-)~

Re: question about mr.clean autodry

After using my autodry unit about 7 times so far, I've learned you just have to get good with it. The first time I washed my car with it my windows were totally waterspotted as was the side of my car. You just have to make sure you wash and rinse EVERYTHING thouroughly (sp?). Just takes a little practice. Mine comes out great now.

Oh btw dont wash it during a windy day. By time I dried I had pollen and dust that stuck all over my car while it was wet.
