Bird Poop
You should try to remove it immediately, some bird droppings are very acidic, and can eat into your clear coat or even worse stain the paint.
If your not able to clean it up right away, take a soft cloth, soak it in hot water, and gently remove it off the paint. If its dry and caked on, then let the hot water soak for a minute, and then it should lift right off. Don't rub, or you may scratch the surface of your paint. Be patient, and it will come off no problem.
Then, take your favorite cleaner/wax, and go over the spot to replace the wax.

quick detailer, micro fiber and patience. also bug off or tar off stuff works well to. i typically use the meguiars line up and then wash the micro fiber right after to make sure it doesn't ruin the towel to.

I messed up and tried to scrub it off but it left the paint faded all over the place where the poop was. I'm so mad at myself. Any suggestions? I'm thinking a good wax and just try to buff out the spots were the damage is.

Try some Quick Detailer and a microfiber cloth...works great for me( like solopresident suggested). I get "bombed" almost daily.
Let the chemical work for you...don't just spray it on and try to remove the bird crap. Let the chemical break the "crap" down so its easy to take off.

Standard trunk equipment = QD & microfiber
Get it off as soon as you see it.
You can always hire this guy, he hates bird poop as you will see at the end of the video.
