I accidently stabbed the bottom part of the seat with a pencil. Don't ask me why.. I did not even know how did that happen...

The leather is about 0.5 inch torn. It's quite small, but I need to get it fixed as soon as possible before the tear is getting worse.

So, Please HELP me.. what should I do? How and Where can I fix it?
Should I bring it to the dealer? I'm just afraid they will charge me with an unbelievable price.

Any suggestions??

 

I'd check with a good auto upholstery shop first. You should be able to find one in the phone book in your area. Good luck with your fix.

^^^ yeah just look for a good shop... the dealer will want to replace the bottom of the seat and that cost $1600

 

anyone know how they will fix the tear? will the damage still be visible after the fix?

 

Repairing Cuts and Tears in Leather:
A cut through the leather must be repaired with a patch on the underside.

Methodology
•Clean and prepare the leather surfaces as in 12a above
•Slice through with a one-sided razor blade to gain access to the underside. The leather patch must be larger than the cut, work the patch into the hole so it can be glued to the underside of the seat leather, suede sides together.
•Use suitable leather adhesive that can be sanded (Rightlook leather adhesive, Rightlook.com) do not use contact cement because it adheres instantly when the two surfaces touch, which would prevent an inside patch from being worked into position.
•Apply the glue through the hole so that both the seat leather and patch are coated
•Work the patch into place, then press the two pieces together and hold them there until the glue sets up. After the glue has cured fill the repaired cut with flexible filler

 

I had my driver seat ( the bottom) replaced with new leather top and new foam for free at the dealer...Took it in for a claim telling them the materials was defective and had it replaced... basically the foam was wearing out causing the leather to tear on the left hand side of the seat....
