Buffer/polisher recommendation?

Hey guys,
again with another question . It seems every time i wash/wax my car it comes out looking real good.. it just falls short when i see the ones posted on this website... So i just wanna step up my game a lil... so i was thinking maybe i should get a polisher for a cleaner finish... I've seen the ones in wal-mart/autozone... but i mean their 30 bux.. so im kinda wary... however i don't need the TOP of the line 400 bux ones.. which ones would u recommend for a nice glossy look but for a reasonable pice.. *best bang for the buck basically*.

Thanks.
-Rogue

Flex XC 3401 is top of the line... but not $400... just $300.

+1 on autopia.com and detailuniversity.com
Also try detailedimage.com and autogeek.net

yea ... 300 is a lil too much for my blood.. i mean iw ouldn't mind if it was something other than a buffer.. i still got plenty of **** to do on the G to go out and blow money on "the top of the line buffer" lol. i think i
ll got with Porter cable even tho its louder and takes a lil longer to polish as well as the flex.. but on the other hand it takes me a **** load of time to wash my car as it is.. so im sure its faster than doin it by hand.

One more thing.. can u use the PC to apply wax as well or is it jus for polishin?

Take a look at Meguiar's G100 rotary buffer. Costs between $140-180 +/-. Meguiar products come with lifetime warranty. I was impressed during one of their open house days.

You need to do a LOT of reading before you buy a polisher. You have to understand what kind of pads you need for certain jobs. You need to know what kind of polishes to use with those bads. The list goes on and on.

I don't think you can get into the polisher game for under $300, so if you are looking at spending less than that, stick to detailing by hand until you are willing to spend a decent amount.

Really? This kit from detailed image which doesn't include any polishes yet+MF towels, and LSP's and you are close to $300 plus shipping. I may be slight over estimating, but from personal experience, I'm $500-700 into it now.

I was talking strictly hardware. Adding in the prices of polishes and such is entirely different. I know both go hand in hand, but the OP mentioned simply buffer alone.

I don't think the OP really understands what he is getting into if he wants to polish his car. I was giving him a bigger picture of what the real costs are, this is assuming you don't get addicted, then it really becomes a money pit
