For a rotary buffer. You have to use a lower speed and softer pad (White)

When my car was stock, my whole front end was clear bra. I used my Porter Cable polisher on it all the time for 2 years, never had a problem.

Its fine in most cases. Then again there should be no need to touch the clear bra with a polisher. A polisher is not going to do anything but put a shine on it that same way doing it by hand will. Its nothing like paint. Just stay away from polish that gets gummy when it warms up. Keep away from the edges as well. You wont melt it but can mark it up real bad or impact polish into the film.

If you need to clean up the film then there are tricks that work well for 3M and Venture Shield that work and are pretty easy.

I ask because I have swirl marks all over the bra . I guess it'll be fine if a low speed is used on the rotor. Thanks guys.

You can probably take care of those fine by hand! My '05 had a scratch on the clear, and I was able to get rid of it fine by using a 3M Cleaner wax, which 3M recommended!

I've got a few scuffs on my clear bra, likely from small rocks and debris. What's the best way to clean it up? I have a PC, but others would probably want to know how to do it by hand as well.

How about using Scratch-X on the clearbra to get rid of swirls by hand? Will that be safe?

If you have Venture Shield then using a heat gun worked around the film in a circular motion to get the film warm but not hot will shine it up and get rid of scratches.
On the 3M film you use isopropyl alcohol on a soft rag. The alcohol will get rid of the scratches unless they are large and deep. If thats the case they are there for good. Once done just use wax or a good polish to bring back the shine.

That can work at times but is a little harsh on the film. In cases like this a plastic polish works better.

Are you sure about the isopropyl? On my last car, I tried removing some tree sap on the clear and it felt sticky for a short time afterwards.

Thats how it works. It softens the hard coat up and in a sense heals itself of the small and micro scratches. On most films a good quick detailer and microfiber cloth will take off most debris on the film. The turtle wax Ice has been working real well for all the clear bra films and is clear so no chance of staining.

This is also why the heat gun works on the venture film. As you heat the film it softens up and will heal itself of everything but deep scratches.

Oh, thanks! Then I won't hesitate to use it next time I get some tree sap on it! Cool!
