Do you not have any local detail shops? I thought most of them have quick wash special prices. I usually pay $10 to get my car hard washed. That even gets me a fender scrubbing and tires shined

I would NEVER trust a place that only charged $10.

never taken my car to a car wash since i've owned it since july 07.. that reminds me.. it needs a wash! stupid construction at my school, they are replacing the whole front lawn because the dirt had some lead it in or something, so as they put new dirt in, there is a TON of airborn dirt that gets on my car

My apt has a car wash place where you can wash it yourself and it's always maintained but it's been off for months because of a drought. I go to any car wash place now.

That's what I do.

Optimum No Rinse car wash...put it in the bucket...wash your car one panel at a time, then just dry it. Works great...I use it a lot actually and is highly recommended on Autopia. Search here for Optimum No Rinse or ONR. Definitely your best solution...

Summer during college at the parents (well water, crappy for carwashes), at college, and when I had a condo. I would just bring a sponge and a bucket to the coin op doityourselfer carwash places.

You gotta think this through!!

Rinse the car with the soapy water, when the time gets to 1 min left, fill your bucket. $1.50

Then sponge it down, bring a second sponge to do the rims by hand at the end.

Then put in another $1.50 for the power rinse, then spot free rinse with a min left.
I ignore all the other cycles, like wax and all that hype, seems like a sucker bet.

$3.00 car wash, better than your driveway bc of spot free rinse!

Thanks for chiming in with some great advice I can't believe we hit the middle of page two before someone suggested ONR.

I was wondering the same thing, but didn't wanna look like the outsider who suggested something soo unconventional.
