Disaster was averted this past weekend, but not before some anxious moments. I live in the midwest, and on Saturday morning it was overcast and about 50 degrees. In a flash of brilliance, I decided to give my 2004 coupe a quick wash in the driveway. Well, when I was about 75% done, the sun comes out STRONG. I tried to dry the body as quick as I could, but still ended up with some white water spots on the body, and since I dry my windows last, they were all over the windows. I wasn't worried at this point, I just figured to re-wet the windows and use my magic microfiber towel to clean them off. WRONG. They would not budge. Tried some Armor-All window wipes. NOPE. Tried some windex and rubbing my *** off. NOT. Now I'm worried! So, I did a search on the internet, and some detailing site said to use white vinegar. They also said to use it for the body, BUT it would also remove any wax and then you would have to re-apply your wax. This did not cheer me up, as I've got about 4 coats of Crystal Guard on the G and did not want to start back at square one. Well, the vinegar worked great for the windows, but before I did the body, I decided to apply another coat of Crystal Guard over the spots in a small area. BINGO, spots disappeared. Did my whole car that way and it looks great again. Don't know if any other product would have given me the same results, but I don't care, I'm an older and wiser man who's learned from his mistake. Don't let this happen to you :-)

a claybar could be used for the windows and body for waterspots

 

Why would you use clay bar??? He still has to wash the car off again and the waters the problem....
