Detailing my OB Sedan

I just order some stuff from DI, this is my first time detailing my car with a buffer. I wanted to ask if this would be a good order to do things.

Wash car with Megs Gold Class
Clay bar
Polish with IP
Polish with FIP
Seal with PB's EX-P
Wax with Natty's

Is this a good route to go or should I go with different products? I have a 4 day weekend this weekend so I'll have all the time in the world to have my baby looking good again, thanks for your time.

that's exactly what i just used yesterday on my black merc... i wasnt thrilled with IP (it was probably my own fault due to lack of experience) but everything else worked perfectly... i'm very happy with the results...

Should look great! Used Menzerna's FMJ to seal and used no wax and I love the results! Z6 makes it extra shiny too!

I used the Full Molecular Jacket this weekend on two cars and was very happy with the shine and gloss. I still prefer to throw on a layer of wax and will be re-ordering some P21S 100% Carnauba Wax or Chemical Guy's 50/50. I will be sticking with the Final Polish and
Intensive Polish and will just vary my wax until I figure out the perfect combo.

Blueboxer, keep me updated on that. Did you detail black cars with that FMJ? I might try that next time, this is my 1st time polishing a car so we'll see how it works out. I chose the PB EX-P because Picus recommended it for black cars & the natty I chose since a lot of people always mention it. I was using NXT 2.0 & I liked that, I'm trying to go deeper & better though so it lasts longer. Everybody else, thanks for the input I can't wait to get my stuff from DI.

Both cars were white, one base white on the BMW and the pearl white on the 350Z. I also did a panel on a dark blue Jeep Cherokee and was very happy with the results, the results were far more noticeable on the darker panel. The Natty's Blue Paste Wax is great for the price, with again, outstanding beading and nice depth after the third coat (the second would be sufficient for most people). The Full Molecular Jacket was such a breeze to apply and the package comes with a great microfiber and decent applicator. I might try the Jet Seal 109 next time. I have heard a lot of positive feedback regarding it, similiar results to the FJM, but may last longer. Overall, the investment was well worth it, I found polishes that I will stick with for a while and a good basic wax.

For maximum cure time 24 hours. I often recommend skipping the wax and apply a coat during your first wash a week later. Makes the wash more enjoyable and you ensure yourself the sealant has fully cured.

Sounds good, I was actually thinking of doing that. I had another question, sounds like I won't have as much time as I thought to detail this weekend. Can I break up the detailing into 3 sets lets say, what I mean is.

Wash Car, Clay & Polish the 1st 1/3rd area of my car, seal the area that I get done with PB's EX-P... then come back the next day & continue with the rest? The car will be oustide as I don't have a garage or car port so I can probably just wipe down the other areas with a QD & continue on. This shouldn't be a big problem right? Or should I just try & squeeze everything in into 1 day & just do everything else that I need to do on the other days I'll have off.

You can always continue where you left off, but I would only do so if you plan on a thorough wash prior to beginning the next phase. The most important step is beginning with a completely clean vehicle and not adding to the swirls by wiping product onto a dirty surface.

Ok coo, one more thing. Can I use Iso water to remove old wax? Iso alcohol is a 1:1 of 70% Iso alcohol & water, I read somewhere here 1 time that that's a good way to remove old wax but I wasn't sure. I was going to use Dawn but a lot of people say that's not a good way to do it. Thanks.

PS: I haven't been able to start detailing due to T-Storms, sucks.
