How to keep the new car smell?

Been having my car for about a year already and the new car scent is going away. Are there any sprays with the new car scent?

Re: How to keep the new car smell?

There are, but from the ones I've tried they aren't quite right. I had used it before selling a car since so many people like it. The one I got was picked up at Target or Wal-mart I think. They're out there anyhow.

Supposedly that 'new car smell' is chemicals and gases escaping from the fresh plastics and vinyl. Not sure if that's really a good thing. Maybe you should try vanilla or something? Seriously though, I thought my 'G35 new car smell' was more of a 'fresh leather smell' so maybe you should look for that instead?

Maybe you could check out a trim supply business and get some pieces of leather upholstery, lay them under one of the seats, just a thought. I bet if someone gets into your car, they still get a new smell, we tend to get used to it as well as it fading! Well, unless you smoke, LOL!

Re: How to keep the new car smell?

Discount Autoparts (and probably Autozone and others) has a "new car smell" spray that smells like leather. I like it, but some people I know don't. I would hit up the autopart stores and see if you can find it. Unfortunately, I forget the name (I think it says "Fresh" on the bottle; they have different scents also).

I have to agree that the Zaino leather stuff puts a good smell in your car. But it goes away in a couple of weeks and you are only supposed to use the leather treatment maybe twice a year.

Ozium makes New Car smell but I gotta warn you this stuff is strong you only need about 2 sprays and then you can't breath but its the best.

The Zaino cleaner also "enhances" the leather smell, but I think it may be a tad overdone, smells more like new shoes, LOL!
