I wax 'em every chance I get. Much easier to clean off dust if the wheels are waxed.

Does Zaino call itself a polish? Because a polish is an abrasive.

A synthetic sealant like Klasse, Zaino, etc, will help with keeping wheels clean.

Re: Does anyone wax their wheels?

i sue the meguairs instant detailer on them... this ads a small protrctant, and is not abrasive (but the debris on the wheels sure is)

last time i had the wheels off (when i went w/ hawk dust-free pads) i waxed the wheels with a heavy coat of zymol, then a coat of instant detailer...

obsessed?? yep, just a lil

Yup, I've used Zaino (z2) and it works great.

Zaino them often (every month) depending on washings, and this really helps with b/dust removal.
Tedious, but well worth the effort if you don't like the brake dust issue.

I tried it once.... it took me forever to wax and remove. It didnt make it much easier to clean. I will never wax them again. I felt it was a huge waste of time. ONly wax if your going to display your car.... otherwise a little and i mean a little rub with soap water... always does the trick.

Oh by the way.... i never waxed these wheels, my expierence was with BMW M3 wheels

Re: Does anyone wax their wheels?

like any other painted surface, your wheels need protection from the elements as well...........Although it may be short term.....it will and does provide some protection to the surface.....it does aid in the brake dust removal as well......

I usually wax them routinely like my car, and detail spray after each wash.....It may not help much.......but it makes me feel like I'm doing something to protect the wheels from the corrosive brake dust.........

Re: Does anyone wax their wheels?

Yeah, Rejex is great. Another great aviation product I've used, especially on the wheels, is Wash Wax by Aerocosmetics. It's anti stati properties make wiping the break dust off with a shop towel pretty easy for a couple of weeks. They will also include an awesome non-scratch applicator that removes bugs and tar with the spray. This applicator alone is worth the price.

I polish (Klasse) every 6 months. As most wheels are painted, you should protect like rest of the car. Keeps brake dust from penetrating and easier to clean following.

Good idea to do so.. Never use an abrasive polish or compound however.

Re: Does anyone wax their wheels?

Yes I have tried several combos... and I have settled with Wheel Wax http://www.wheelwax.com/

WheelWax is clear coat safe and has a clear coat sealer to protect from cracking. WheelWax is not a polish, it is a cleaner and wax that is formulated with space age polymers and resins, heat resistant sealant and carnuba wax, which provides the ultimate protection for wheels.
