1st Detail!

So, i detailed my GF's car this weekend, and im really happy how it turned out. Did a pretty good job for my first time.
So I washed, clayed, polished, waxed. Her car was REALLY bad SOOO many deep scratches and swirls. I think i need a more aggressive polish to get more of the swirls out. Heres some pics, It was hard to really take good before after shots, her color paint makes it really hard to see the imperfections on camera.

Products Used:
PC 7424
Zaino 2-18 clay bar
CG Pro Polish (orange pad followed by white)
Zaino Z-2 W/ZFX(pics are after 2 coats)(Blue Pad)

Basicallt her whole car looked like this:

Looks great! Nice job. Try to get a few after shots which show the sun being reflected.

Yea, can't see much in the shade, invest in some good halogen lamps to see the marring better. Good job on the first detail though. How long did it take?

^ it was getting dark when i finished so i just took a couple this morning when i left and it was all gloomy out.
It took me most of the day but only because i was so hot and the car was too hot to work on. Total time was prob. 6 hrs.

You probably aren't polishing long enough, my details take a minimum of 8 hours with the PC, and thats only a single step polish

the scratches in the second pic were too deep to get them out 100% but cant notice them now unless you're up close!

Looks great for your first detail Shane! So are you going to use the PC on your Coupe now?

Like Redlude, my details take a minimum of 8 hours or so for a single step compounding.

Have you tried 4" pads with the PC? In my opinion, it makes the correction go much faster since you need less applications. I just ordered 4" purple foam wool pads which I understand cut even faster although a second, finishing step of polishing is needed. I'll post how they work soon.

Yeah ill be using the PC on my coupe within the next couple weeks.
As far as how long it took, again, i was working on it ALL day but tooks some breaks so im not sure how long really. I started around 10 am and finished around 9:30, and the car was already washed.

I use 4" pads for my cutting pads exclusively, and it still takes about as long because the coverage is less. They also gum up faster, so you'll need 2 4" pads for every 1 6" pad. I use 5" danase CCS pads for polishing, IMO 6" just bogs too much. Still takes me over 8 hours
