Painting wheels

So i want to powder coat or paint my stock rims and most people I see use dupli-color (aerosol). I would prefer to use a paint gun since the outcome is better. Now the question is what kind of paint is the best in my case since i can't use dupli-color.

Yea i was thinking powdercoat but several people, including a shop told me that powdercoating looks nice, but the paint can chip easily. So i rather spend 40$ on paint and do it myself (many people did it themselves and it has been fine) than pay $129 a wheel to get it powdercoated and worry about chips

LOL i dont know who told you that it would chip, that is the sole purpose of powdercoating is because of its durability. You want to use a spray gun and your worried about chipping?

You said that perfectly bro the PAINT will chip easily NOT the powder. Powder coating is a way different process... i have years of experience painting automotive parts and can tell you from personal experiences even with all the prep in the world and using a paint gun my paint job on a wheel will be far outlasted by a powder coated wheel. Not to mention a proper powder job will actually require a beadblast to get the wheel to raw product making the powder applied adhere a whole lot more effectively. Stay away from the paint bro, spend the extra money and powder them.. call around to your local shops because you will find they arent as expensive as you ight think. I had a set of Iforged done 2 months ago relatively inexpensively..
