smoked tail lights
has anyone smoked their taillights? i actually really like the rear tail lights except that the white reverse lights look a little pink at times from far away. ive seen one car at sound domain with his entire tail smoked and it looks awesome. how would one go about doing the same? vinyl? any ideas would be great! thanks
Re: smoked tail lights
Eh...to each there own...but I feel the backlights should not be touched. I think they are perfect the way they are.

Re: smoked tail lights
the thing with vinyl is that it would be easier/cheaper to just remove if you ever got a fix it ticket? and what IS the law on smoked tail lights.. anyone?
Re: smoked tail lights
From what I heard from someone who painted their taillights transparent black, the taillight color has to be a shade of red. How dark a shade is up to you and the cop. I am not 100% sure but he hasn't recieved a ticket yet for it.

Re: smoked tail lights
The illumination has to be red when they light up. Reflectors also need to be red when you shine light on them. The physical color of the lens when it's just sitting there doesn't matter. (Of course, science hasn't advanced enough to let the lens truly be a different color and still be legal....)
