Weak car paint
Weak car paint
Let me start that I don't post much in here but I do come and read frequently to get information. The majority of users are neutral and they admit when there are flows with the car, and some are just to fanatic in my opinion. I have seen this post before, but just curious if there are complaints to infinity for weak paint. This is the easiest car to get chipped of all my past cars which were below or around 20,000. For a $30,000 car I am very disappointed.Perhaps Infinity can improve in this area for future cars...
Re: Weak car paint
It is true that Nissan uses water based paint (so I hear) to paint our cars which generally make it weaker. I had to repaint my front bumper and my body shop guy told me. The paint he used is alot stronger, I have avout 6K miles on it with no chips. I can't speak the same for my hood, it's dying!

Re: Weak car paint
All manufacturers have to use a water based paint these days, not just Infiniti! You can look at any dark colored automobile, and see chips! I just saw a newer Monte Carlo, black, today that had a lot of chips. I don't really know if the paint type makes much difference, my first new car (yeah, I'm older) '68 Mustang, was extremely pitted on the front down under the bumper within a year or so, and that wasn't water based paint! I think sand, stones and what have you are just an enemy of paint period!
