Tint dry times

I need to get my windows re-tinted. I recall there being a 24-72hr waiting period before I could roll down my windows. Can anyone elaborate? I need them done ready-to-go by Sat. at the latest... will parking it in the sun speed up the process?

I feel like such a newbie

Re: Tint dry times

Yeah it's usually 2-3 days and parking in the sun will help. If you get it done tomorrow and let it bake until Saturday you'll be fine.

DO A SEARCH! j/k
They told me to not roll down for 72 hours and mine were done in November in Ky, so not alot of hot sun available. No problems so far.

Thanks for the quick replies I'm getting it done tomorrow afternoon at the latest, so I'll hope it's ready.

Re: Tint dry times

For the coupes, dry time should be minimal. I dry all coupes and other vehicles w/ window trigger dip because this could pick up the film if not fully dry. Let the shop know and have them dry the film before you leave their install bay.

True... I sneeze and it's dust before it hits the ground.

Re: Tint dry times

It's probably just from the blowing sand, nothing to worry about! Just out of curiousity GeoBau, why are you getting them redone?

Re: Tint dry times

Two doors are being replaced after an accident, and in switching the glass, there's always the possibility of scratching up the tint. Luckily the front window's perfectly fine, but I have yet to see how the back held up. Tomorrow will tell. If it's scratched, I'll have them retinted within the half hour, but if it's fine, I'll leave it as-is or retint a bit darker.

Re: Tint dry times

Oh, sorry about that happening GeoBau! Wow, how can you get the re-tint done on such a short notice? I'd have to wait a few days around here! Hope the repairs turn out well!

Re: Tint dry times

Magic When you've been waiting as long as I have to get your car finished, you'd be surprised. I got my Borla, rims, pop charger, and eibach pro kit all with two days notice each... and I didn't pay over invoice

Ahh, the power of severely pi$$ed-off G owners.

Re: Tint dry times

I guess, on my Mustang GT vert, they had to replace the top and the window, they were able to get it retinted the very next day, of course, it was in December, probably a slow time for the tinting biz!

Re: Tint dry times

How does that 1/4" auto up/down (when you open/close the door) feature affects the dry time?
