I have to say I hate our winters. My car is only 3 months old and I had to shampoo the carpets already. They turned out great though and the smell of spring is in the air. Summer tires going back on April 2.

I have not had a chance to drive with the Michelins. Can't wait.

Re: Carpet Shampoo
I thought you had the 'WeatherTech' mats?

Mats
I have WeatherTech mats but the things fill up with water from melted snow and it runs over the edge. I ended up with dirty lines on either side of the mats.

When I have business downtown the area is a mess with sandy slush after a snowfall. That crap gets into everything.

Re: Mats
Yeah, I haven't checked around the edges of mine. I'll wait 'til it dries up a bit and the salt gets washed off the streets. What a mess here with the drastic change in temperature and all the snow we've had! EdRedS said he almost got stuck in the deep slush last night at the Cayenne Gala. Lots of Porsches there that I was surprised were able to park in the lot! Wondered if the parking valets got anyone stuck?

Re: Mats
This situation will never end unless we all pack up and go south for the winter. (Love the idea but can't afford to vacation four months of the year)

Re: Mats
Yeah, but then we'd have to deal with tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, vandals, pesti sliding out of control around a corner, etc.

Sorry pesti, couldn't resist adding you on the end! Glad to hear you're back on the road with an intact ride.

Re: Mats
Winter's almost over (I know that it officially ended yesterday but there is always one big snow storm in March) but next year get yourself about twelve feet of those clear plastic mats they sell at Home Depot to place in house hallways. As they are wider than the regular car mats I cut and placed about three feet under each of my car mats to catch any overflow from melted snow. This will avoid any of the white salt deposits associated with the dirty melted snow.
