Any good bug removal suggestions?
Any good bug removal suggestions?
Its seems like after any night drive the next morning I'm out washing my front bumper. Do any of you use a bug spray or is that too harsh for the clear bra?

i also have the turtle wax bug and tree sap remover. i've only used it a couple of times and it's not bad. but i don't know if the ease of removing the crap is because of the remover or because i have layers of CG on my bumper. good luck.

Re: Any good bug removal suggestions?
I'm sure someone else has, at some point come up with this, so I won't look to patent the idea, but as a Zaino user, I saw somewhere on the site that Sal recommends the car wash at a hundred percent to get off stubborn grime. Not wanting to spend a mint on car wash, and not really needing that level of cleaning power, I decided to throw six capfuls into a 16 oz spray bottle with some warm water.
Awesome! I use this spray on the front to take off the bugs, and I won't be buying wheel cleaner ever again either.
Combined with a lambswool glove, or worst case, microfibre cloth, this works like a charm. Far gentler than bug&tar remover or wheel cleaner, this gets the job done without peeling off whatever polish you might have on the car. I've used the turtlewax b&t remover and simple green in the past and while they do work well, I know they are a lot more harsh than carwash.

Well after you do get the bugs off a good coat of wax will make getting the bugs off a whole lot easier! Love the clear bra!

Re: Any good bug removal suggestions?
Someone recently told me about a product called "Bug B Gone" which is easily the best product I have ever found for bug removal. I bought it at a local Champion auto parts store. A one gallon concentrate (a pink liquid) runs about $30. I can't remember if it comes in smaller sizes.
Various dillution rates are recommended on the label. I mixed it at the high rate of about 1:5 (concentrate:water) in a spray bottle. No matter how bad the windshield becomes, spraying it about a minute before using one of those gas station sponges dipped in water results in about 99% bug removal.
For the body, I spray a minute or so before washing (or driving into the car wash) and virtually all of the bugs are gone. Because it works so well, it is more than worth the price.
