I do a full detail on my G twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. How much claybar you use will depend on how bad your paint is. I cut up my clay bar into smaller pieces, but I've never used an entire claybar on one vehicle.
Same here!
Depends entirely on how bad the vehicle is. And the clay bar size.
Usually i'll cut up a 100g bar into 1/3rds, and if a third of it gets too dirty, I'll start using the next 1/3 piece.

2-3 times a year. Since I keep my car pretty clean, my clay barely picks up anything, so I can use it many times before I change it out.
I've had a customer that never cleaned her car once in the two years she owned the car. Took two bars to detail her car.

there are clay bar substitutes, which are basically special foam sponges with a rubber-esque material on them that does a pretty good job of picking up bonded contaminants.
from my experience though, i still like to follow up with a real clay bar to catch anything I missed.
also, its important to use the intended "lube" for the particular clay bar that you're using.
some lubes (basically quick detailer sprays) are too slick and the clay bar doesnt pick up as much as it should, and others dont lube enough, which can damage paint if its bad enough.
just a thought.
i too try to clay around twice a year. like said, it all depends on what the car is exposed to daily. my mom's 4runner has probably never been waxed/sealed in its 10 year exisitence, but it looks and shines like it did when it was new. probably has something to do with that its garaged 99% of the time - at home AND at work.

I do my car twice a year. But mine is a garage kept weekend warrior. I'm able to get away with Menz 85RD on a gray pad to remove my fine swirls. If I needed to stept it up, I'd be pissed that mark was on my car(Probally my girlfreinds purse grazing my door). Then I would use 106FA or power finish 203, followed by 85RD
I usually get a 200g bar and cut it into 5 pieces. Then I use Chem guys sythetic QD as my lube.
