Angry Does anyone else's rear bumper look like this?

Within one day of purchasing a pre-certified 2006 G35X, I parallel parked my car in NYC and lightly tapped the car behind me. I got out to see a white gash on my otherwise blue bumper. I have since accumulated many more gashes from tapping the bumpers of other cars. I have been driving in NYC and am an unusually good parallel parker and have never had a problem with my bumpers. Has anyone else had a similar experience with their back or front bumper? Pls. advise

Sorry but that will require a repaint.

Gonna' have to repaint that, learn the dimensions of your new car, and adjust how you park.

Hmm, well you are the one that caused the damage. How are the victim's cars?

Thanks for your replies but in all seriousness -- I am confused. A car whose bumper acquires an unsightly gash from the lightest of bumps? I guess what I am trying to determine if others G35 owners have bumpers that hold up like paper machet or is it just me? Thanks.

Learn to parallel park... because you suck at it. I don't consider myself a good parallel parker but I can still fit my car in a very tight space without hitting the other cars...

few things annoy me more than drivers who park-by-braille. i used to live on a main street and witnessed many acts of bumper-car parking where the offender just walked/drove away. i would always confront the offender whenever possible, record their plate and inform the innocent driver when they returned. my hope is that someone will do the same for me...karma FTW!

OP - Step 1: learn how to park. Step 2: repaint bumper. Step 3: if you do ever slip up and bump a car, be sure to leave your contact info at the scene. otherwise your are technically fleeing the scene of an accident (albeit a very minor one).

Step 1 is crucial for your wallet & safety. if you do not learn how to park properly eventually you will bump the wrong guy's car and it will be lights out. road rage isn't going away anytime soon. unless you are a good-looking chic, that is...

Haha.....I live in Jersey City and drive in NYC all the time....."UNUSUALLY GOOD" parkers do not hit the other cars.......some things cannot be avoided like other idiots that do not know how to park bumping you.....but you should not be hitting other cars and thinking that that is good parking

Get a rear view camera or put a styrofoam bumper
