Tinting
I am getting my windows tinted for my G. The one place I called will do regular black tink for $150 any percentage. Anyone heard of the brand JOHNSON? That is what they use.
I am trying to find a place that does Madico Onyx, Huper Optik (found one, but in Reading), Lumar, etc. Any advice for the Philadelphia, PA area?
Thanks.

Re: Tinting
Johnson Films is not a bad film, but a tad bit behind Madico, Llumar, and Huper in clarity and heat reduction. As long as the film is installed correctly, then there shouldn't be any problems w/ bubbling or peeling, but fading is a different story w/ Johnsons. Try to find a dealer carrying either one of the three film manufacturers I listed above. Good luck!

Re: Tinting
I just got my car done today by wil, and he spent close to 4 hours on it. He did an outstanding job.. paid attention to detail, and rechecked everything after he was done.. he put madico onyx 50% in the front and 20% side windows, and 20% madico charcool in the rear.. no vinyl needed, it was a seamless one piece and there was none of the bubble effect.. he spent half an hour just prepping the back.. I'm extremely satisfied and he'll be doing my front windshield soon..

Re: Tinting
just got my tints done over the weekend - went with 35% Llumar all around the coupe. Back sheet was one full sheet no vinyl strip just a lil worried about the dot matrix but so far so good. guy told me "any problems bring her back" - anyone have pics of their windshield tinted?

Re: Tinting
Well, I did some research and found a couple places...
Huper Optik: A place in Allentown called Andretti Glass Tint, they will do it for $179 plus a 5% travel discount since I am not close. It is for an aesthetic charcoal tint, I can wait and has a lifetime warranty. They were very nice.
LLumar: I found at ar Car Pretty for $180 and in Ohio (near my parent's house which I will be visiting soon) for $169.
I think I am going to go with the Huber in Allentown, but we will see. Thanks to all for your input.

Re: Tinting
First of all, SagiSRP, thank you for your positive comments about my work..........I try my best.
Unfortunately, I'm located in the Bay Area, CA koreangrl. Do keep in mind that lifetime warranty is generally a warranty by the film's manufacturer from defective material and not poor installation. Check to see what they're warranty is for labor.
On the coupe, I do not like to use vinyl strips because it's just an easy way to cover up those dots..........in my opinion, laziness for the shops doing this. Tinting over the dots without having it bubble up shows a lot of expertise in the field.......so keep that in mind when searching for a tint shop. Warranty of labor is just as important as warranty of film - make sure you ask! Good luck!
By the way, I will post pics of SagiSRP's car when I get a chance to upload it to my computer.

Re: Tinting
I would definitely recommend Huper Optiks if you can find a good installer and if you wanna fork out the money. I just got mine put in and I can noticably tell the difference in the heat reduction. I have DG with DG interiors and it was starting to get hot...
Keep in mind that Hupers are a thicker film and it takes a good installer to do a good job. IMO, if you for out $35k+ for a car, might as well get the best tint and not go for the $150 cheap tint that joe schmo on the corner will do for you... Good luck.
$179 for Hupers?? Make sure they ARE using Huper... Most places charge $350+...

Re: Tinting
Kudos on the Huper. I got Huper Optik Ceramic 30 put on my car 3 weeks ago. So far so good and my car looks F'ing schweet! I got it done for $425 and the guy did a really good job. No vinyl strip in the rear. Used one piece on all the windows and he tinted right over the dot matrix. The tint is still curing so probably another couple of weeks until it's done.
