Re: Anyone Try The Crystal Guard Stuff?

Can I just apply the CG Quick? What results can i expect from just using the quick? Is the CG quick easily removable? How is the pro kit better than the quick version? How frequently will i need to re-apply if i only use the quick version?

Have any other G owners given this a try?

Thanks

Yes. Even CGQ gives you MUCH better durability compared to other sealant or wax product. It's totally new concept to create a glass layer over your car. And one 30 mins application gives you wet glass looking shine and months of protection. If you are using wax for looking or protection, you won't need to use them anymore. CGQ surface even doesn't attract dusts unlike other wax, oil or detergent based product, and you can basically blow dust with air compressor, which I usually do at car shows to clean my car

Speaking of CGQ, unlike other product, it's creates micro thin layer over the paint, so you don't need to remove it. You can just use any other wax or sealant product over it if you don't like the looking of CG.

Pro version has 2 applications process. Base coat provides MUCH thicker glass layer than CGQ layer with 1 coat. Then Top coat adds slick, smooth, and shiny surface. With CG Pro, basically you don't lose its shiny looking and smooth surface for a year easily. I did application on my modena over 10 months ago myself and have never done anything. Just washing with CG wash, and it just looks great. Any water spots or bugs still comes off easily and brake dust never sticks to the wheels. I can still wipe it off with my finger.

CGQ is compromising its durability to provide much easier application process. However, it doesn't mean it wears out easily. It is just relative expression. CGQ still provides much better looking and better durability against oxidation compared to others.

Re: Anyone Try The Crystal Guard Stuff?

Would dawn dish soap remove the layer of protection (CG Quick) or would i need a more aggressive means? I realize that i probably wouldn't be removing it, however, i'm afraid that if i screwed up on the application and it didn't look correct, that it wouldn't be easy to correct. I'd like to try the product but i want to know that if i don't like it or have any problems, that i can remove it completely without the risk of removing paint/clearcoat.

Are there any surfaces that this shouldn't be applied to? (for instance, some waxes don't mix well with plastics)

Thanks

Actually it's hard to tell but unlike other wax product, you can not use soap to remove CG but CG is not like a product you can see the border where you applied very clearly. You even can apply it on wheels, plastic parts, chorome parts, wood panels, windows, etc.

Re: Anyone Try The Crystal Guard Stuff?

So what is required to remove it? Will/can that process damage the paint?

I looked around at some of the posts on zdriver, and it sounded like a seperate chemical was needed to remove it.. what chemical, how much would it cost, and is that chemical harmful?

Thanks

Re: Anyone Try The Crystal Guard Stuff?

I will check wkind of chemical that one is, but if you use it in right way, it won't damage anything. I thought it was cheap. I only used once more than 6 months ago to try it on my black car. Worked ok.

Re: Anyone Try The Crystal Guard Stuff?

Hi Pestilence,
Here is my application tip:

1a. Do preparation work if you want. (hours?)
or
1b. Wash your car with CGW or any soap you like (15 mins)
2. Hose water to make sure the surface is wet. (30 sec)
3. Spray CGQ. (0.8oz or so, 1 min)
4. Spread with microfiber. (3 min)
5. Hose water. (30 sec)
6. Wipe dry with microfiber. (10 mins)
7. Have beer looking at your shining car. (as long as you want.)

Is this thread like an "info-thread"? Kind of like the "info-mercial". Now I am seeing all the adds for this on the top and side of this forum/site.

Will this stuff help to prevent scratchs and rock paint chips?
