Yeah your right, i may just have to find a good detail shop and have them go at it. and i will just try to maintaine it. I want to try and get rid of all those swirl marks that i keep seeing in the sun.

Thanks for the great info!

So after the detail would i just have to seal, and wax it every few months? or would just waxing it be ok?

Jeeez... Unless you really want to learn how to detail (goto autopia.org and learn), just go get it done professionally. Then just wash (by hand) and wax/seal it every month. Wax and sealant are both last step products (LSPs) that simply protect the paint to a limited extent. Just use one or the other. You don't need both.

Im getting the car fully detailed this friday

They are going to do the following to the paint:

Wash
claybar
Polish
Wax.

so afetr this am i correct to assume that i can just wax my car like once a month, and should be good?

And i should seal it every 6 months or so?

When i was looking at zaino's website they dont mention having a wax, just a sealer it looks like.

Can someone recommend what wax i should get to use every month or so, i want one that will havbe the deepest shine, and lasts about a month and a half.

Zaino and FMJ are both sealants. Different properties that waxes. Do some research on them and decide what is better for you.

If you go with sealant which is sounds like you are, I love Zaino personally. I have tried applying a wax on top(personally use P21s) to get some depth, but honestly I just love the hard candy shell look that sealant provides. On darker cars I do lean more on waxes, but on a light car(like my IP) the wax just doesn't do enough to make it worth it. I'd rather do more layers of Zaino.

Wax would need to be applied every month or so, sealants you can typically get away with more time in between. To be honest I seal my car with Zaino every month though, not for protection because it lasts longer than that, but just because I love the shine it gives when I'm done!

For polishes...as most said...can't go wrong with Menzerna.

seal then wax. Seal every 6 months or so, wax as needed which is probably going to be every 2-4 weeks. Just make sure you don't wax then seal, the sealant won't bond properly and you're just throwing money down the drain.

maybe you should be the one doing research. Most people recommend both, first a sealant then the wax. You also don't need to apply a sealant every month, that's the whole benefit of a sealant over a wax.

how much do you want to spend? There are some amazing waxes out there, but they come with a price.

The two product lines don't have completely matching product lines.

You are better off with a combo of both Menzerna and Zaino.

For pait and metal polishes: Menzerna
For LSP, QD, glass, soap, dressings, and leather: Zaino

so like i said i decided to go with Zaino for the sealent, would it be wise to use Menzerna as a wax? or is there a better shinier one out there for a white car. I will seal every 6 months, and prob wax every month or so

I have Zaino Z5pro and Z-CS on my white Infiniti. I prefer it over Swissvax Mystery or just about any other carnauba product. Just started to use Optimum products and am also completely satisfied with those on white (Poli-Seal, Opti-Seal, and OCW)

You may be the first person to buy the Menzerna wax..I wouldnt use it.

Depending on use, you will need to apply Zaino every 3 months at least. If you like a really clean and shiny car, plan on doing it every 45-60 days and topping with Z8 after every wash or so. Maybe even buy some Z-CS.
