noob detail.. need help with starter kit

hey guys im a noob when it comes to detailing the car. im looking for a good starter kit to get me going. i have been searching alot on some products but i still dont now what to get, theres just so many things to choose from. i have a 06 OB coupe, it has some swirl marks and the normal wear and tear things on the paint. i would love to do a full detail on it but i have no idea what and where to start really. i need some help to point me in the right spot. if u need any other info about the car or any thing else please ask. i will post pics up of the car and paint asap.

thanks
John

I started with something like this:

http://www.eshine.ca/2_porter_cable_...181.php?cat=27

Plus some Menzerna polish, clay bar and lube.

You should be able to go to detailed image or similar site and find a similar pkg.

Definately invest in a Porter cable, one of the few car investments that will save you time and money over time. You probably only need a light/finishing polish, sealant, and wax. I would recommend the following:

polish:
Final Polish or Meguiars light swirl remove, both applied with a white polishing pad and maybe a final run with a blue or green light cutting pad.

sealant:
Full Molecular Jacket is still my favorite for its results and ease of use, but a lot of people really love Jet Seal.

wax:
P21S Carnauba Wax is again, my personal favorite, but you can use S100 if you are by a local harley shop or Meguiars NXT 2.0.

I apply both waxes and sealants with a microfiber applicator or the meguiars yellow foam pads. Invest in quality microfiber, well worth a few extra bucks. Cobra or the premium ones at DI or great. Also invest in two wash buckets, a nice microfiber mit, and a wheel brush to avoid the temptation of using your car wash sponge on wheels. I love Optimum's quick detailer, and the 32 oz. bottle is concentrated and will last forever and save u money over time. Good luck.
